You can stop Adxe from recognising this browser. Opting out here turns off Adxe’s advertising cookies and the matching of this browser with the identifiers advertising exchanges and Adxe’s own advertisers use for it. You do not need an account.
Your choice for this browser
Checking this browser…
What opting out does
- Adxe sets an opt-out cookie, adxe_optout, in this browser. It holds no identifier, only your choice. It is set for five years and renewed each time an Adxe ad or this page sees it, because some browsers keep a cookie for at most about 13 months.
- Adxe removes its identifier cookies, adxe_vid and adxe_vid_p, from this browser and sets no new ones while the opt-out cookie is present.
- Adxe no longer matches this browser with the identifiers the advertising exchanges it buys from use for it, and the ads Adxe shows you record no identifier for this browser.
- The links Adxe had already recorded for this browser’s identifier are deleted from the data Adxe uses to choose ads, usually within a day.
- When this browser visits an advertiser’s website that uses the Adxe pixel, the visit or purchase is still counted for the advertiser’s reporting, but without any identifier for you.
What opting out does not do
- You will still see ads. They are chosen without information about this browser, so they may be less relevant and repeat more often.
- It applies to this browser only. Opt out separately in each browser and on each device you use.
- Clearing your cookies removes the opt-out cookie too. Opt out again here afterwards.
- A browser that blocks third-party cookies, or keeps them separately for each website, does not send the opt-out cookie to ads on other websites. In those browsers Adxe’s cookies are already limited to one website at a time.
- It does not cover apps. On a phone or tablet, reset or turn off the advertising identifier in your device settings: Android and iOS both offer this.
- It covers Adxe only. Other advertising companies have their own controls.
Other advertising companies
To opt out of the other advertising companies that take part in them, use the industry tools at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. The cookie policy lists every cookie Adxe sets, and the privacy policy explains your other choices and rights.
Opting back in
Return to this page in the same browser and choose Opt back in. Adxe then removes the opt-out cookie, and may set its identifier cookies again the next time this browser sees an Adxe ad.
